![]() | We're just a few hours away from the solstice (2:44 am est). Today I worked a few hours from home, and then went to this Rotary lunch thing with Melissa. Sometimes at these sort of functions or at parties in Unity, I knew almost everyone there. And often people I don't know, know who I am. I guess we've really settled in here. The lunch was in the supper hall of the Union Church followed by Carols in the Round by the rather well-known local high school choir in the small perfect church, built in the same year as our house; less than 30 people sat in the center of it and the singers circled around, changing positions after each song. They sang acapella and in sophisticated harmonies worked for perfect pitch, blend and balance. No theatrics. They were like a mobile pipe organ. The perfection of it all had tears running down my face.
Our holiday party will be a New Year's Day open house/brunch. Anytime after 11 am. Y'all come. |
