Festin the first Friday. Collard greens in the gospel tent listening to the Dynamic Smooth Family. Bro-in-law David Bourg caught on to festin right away, especially the food booths. Days later I was grateful for those Pepcid-ACs they were giving away free at the gate.
On the following Thursday, Dave Cash was making sure the WWOZ webcam dude had his Fest ID on. Webcam guy took pictures and emailed them to our work places, pictures of such low resolution and weird lighting that later we could claim to have actually spent vacation in a Turkish prison.
After opening Friday, we went to Gulf Shores for some much needed beach time with my family. Hangin with the sistahs was great. Later I adjusted all their computers so they could tune in the the TPU optimally.
We stayed a few days at friends Anita & Malissa in Covington whose gardens remind us of our house in Lacombe. We rode bikes on the Tammany Trace, but the bridge over Bayou Lacombe hasn't been finished yet. At Peg and Jinx's annual party in Bay St. Louis, we tested the crawfish before everyone else got there. Quality control. Someone's got to do it.
The usual suspects under the soccer flag at the Ray-Ban stage. Melissa and I had to do the wet bandana around the neck thing to keep our cool. It was a bit of a climate adjustment for us. On one of our time outs in the shade of the Lagniappe stage we heard Chris Smither, just him and his blue guitar. Fabulous.

More to come. I'm making an email directory of friends and family. It will be accessible from the Directory link at the top of the page from now on. Add your info. I'll be adding some amenities like alphabetic order and searching later.
