A strange season. The kayak is on the picnic table with its new rudder installed, pointed toward the lake that is still frozen. Our days are springy and pleasant, but it takes a while for two feet of ice to melt. Looks like a May ice out this year. The chairs are back on the deck and the sunshine is piping directly into my soul where there is a lot of fusty mold left from the winter that wouldn't end.
If I've been neglecting the ole PU, it's because my spare programming time has been going into this project: ![]() Sari Hou, a computer teacher at Unity College and I are the main conspirators, with help from Arlene Schaefer, Vicci Dwyer, Suzanne & Murry Bauer, and Bob V. We're using the computer shop on the corner for hosting (they contract with a national outfit). It's cheap and they allow cgi and database programming. It's all NT, but for that price I can hold my nose. This weekend I did the closet change out, the corduroys and wool were replaced with cotton. Piled up the shorts and tank tops for the New Orleans expedition next week. We'll bring Fiddler's Green cereal and maple syrup and come back with chicory coffee and olive salad. Recently finished Darwin's Radio by Greg Bear. The genre is hard science fiction. Subspeciation and DNA set asides. Speaking of punctuated equilibrium and other good names for alternative bands, I hope someone remembers to bring the ingredients for strawberry margueritas..... |
