The Valentine's Day snowstorm (the Bizzard of Love) brought us about a foot of fresh stuff. One could do a lot worse than to be snowed in on Valentine's Day. Yesterday, Melissa, Jennifer and I showshoed from town to our house (about 3 miles) on the lake, "no difference between the land and the water." Strong winds in the last few days have created floral/fractal designs. Quite a few variations on this design out there.

Here's Miss February. Two cuts from movies I saw recently. Cabin Dogs will play here in July; they sound a lot like The Band. The Booboo Davis album came to the theater. He appears to be a simple Delta blues guy who has been obrotherized by the Dutch company that records him. I like it even while being amused by its somewhat pretentions production qualities. Its simple image, man standing in cotton field when plane flies over, is mythical in its lack of detail. Thanks to Jean Carr for Vienna Teng and to Darlene Hingle for Laura Smith ("Canada's Joan Armatrading"). I love being put on to new things. What's everyone else listening to out there?

In the winter of sudoku logic (I acquired sudoku like a virus from my sister Colleen in December), there is the certainty of must go here. Probabilities do not count. It must go here or it must not. In dreams I apply sudoku logic to intractable human situations and sometimes arrive at a must go here.
