Happy New Year Everybody. Bye-Bye to the aughts; hello to the twenty somethings. We are in the middle of a four day snow event that will add up to about a foot of snow. It could get wilder when the blowing part starts later. Better get the generator out and ready to go. After our New Years Day gathering here (black eye peas, glorified cabbage (from the Cooking Up a Storm cookbook), Melissa and I put on headlamps and walked up to get the paper.  A headlamp in the snow is like a personal fireworks display above your head. Temps are in the upper twenties, so it's pleasant to be out. We'll do snowshoeing this weekend.
Melissa has a cool new rig where the boots clip right onto the snowshoes instead of cold fingers trying to fasten frozen bindings.
