Melissa's mother, Shirley Bastien, died on Wednesday, or "passed" as they say. I think she did better than passing. Her life pretty much gets an A. Here is the Obit which Melissa wrote. She was highly networked professionally and with her community. Her "faith sharing group" were intensely devoted. Sister Claudette was there when she died and read her Episcopalian prayers to her. There was a lot of ecumenical stuff like that. After she died peacefully and the hospice nurse noted time of death, everyone left the room and gathered in the kitchen, because Shirley had also left the room.
