January is a good time to book a rocking show. There's not much else happening and if a snow storm doesn't wipe you out, people come out for some fun. The Alexis P Suter Band on Thursday night brought in a big enthusiatic crowd who were totally with her. Their live performance of "Rise" was thrilling. I took the shot above from my seat, pushed my way through dancers in the balcony to get the band shot and grabbed a picture of Andy LeBlanc, the sound guy, on the way by. I like our show rituals. Monica sets a table for the band at Crosstrax and brings out dishes of food. Jamieson's with organic ginger ale is offered. My resolutions for 2012 can be summed up as More Venues, More Content. More movies. Started with The Descendants yesterday at Railroad Square. More reading. New books on the Kindle, old books in paperback. More music in more places.
