Spring right? Yes, I know I said enough snow pictures, but the photo of Melissa was taken yesterday! It just takes forever for piles of snow to melt. The car photo (yes, there's a car under there) was taken one day in March. It's been a hell of a winter. Last year the ice went out the first week of April; this year I expect to see it when we get back from JazzFest. Speaking of which...we'll be festin Thursday May 3 and Friday May 4. I highlighted a couple of things; let me know what you recommend. We'll be retreating to the Langiappe Stage or the grandstand a few times each day for some shade; we don't have the heat tolerance anymore.  While we're gone Karla Bonoff will perform at the Unity theater and will stay at the Heron. Ooh that hurts. Next weekend Lucy Kaplansky performs and stays with us. Our cosy theater that used to be a barn is a lot of fun and this host-the-folksinger aspect of it is neat.
Before leaving, I hope to help launch unitymaine.org. It's a happening little place. It doesn't quite rate a "portal," but it will at least have a cottage door. |
