The first flowers of spring around here are tiny crocuses, poking out as soon as the snow is gone. And this weekend is the first springy feeling weather with clear skies and sunshine and temps almost to 60. We did the big clothing shuffle this morning, goose down and wool and fleece banished to the basement, cotton and linen and shorts taking their place. The cap on Melissa's truck came off and went into the barn in Skowhegan along with the bags of sand. My snow tires come off tomorrow.
Counting the days until the JazzFest trip. One person who won't be in that number this year is Mama Cheryl Timmins who is busy with new daughter Nola Manning Timmins. For a Sarasota girl she has a great New Orleans name, evoking the Nola Express, and giving tribute to Archie and Peyton.

When you watch television, you never see people watching television. We love television because it brings us a world in which television does not exist.

We enjoyed hearing the Australian group The Waifs here a few days ago. They'll be at JazzFest (the Louisiana Heritage Stage, go figure) on May 1. Their song Crazy Train is this week's download.
