Give us more music festivals! Bought tickets today for Saltwater Festival, a one-day affair at Thomas Point Beach in Brunswick, ME. I was going to skip it because we are going to Newport Folk Festival the following weekend, but then he added Ollabelle and Rory Block to the lineup. We've never gone to a folk music festival like Newport before. I think there is no beer and you sit in lawn chairs. Could be a bit too genteel for us, but we can probably maintain for a couple of days. Our Grace Potter show did ok the other night. The banquet room where we usually feed the band was set up for a wedding and it was a bit chaotic feeding two bands in the gallery. A hugely improved sound from their last appearance here. The other performers I have scheduled this year are the Red Stick Ramblers, Ferron, Mary Gauthier, and Le Vent du Nord. My wish list includes Ruthie Foster and the Bluegrass Gospel Project. We have had the wettest May ever, weeks and weeks of rain. So I can only look at my new bike, a Trek 7300FX hybrid, 24 gear combinations, no suspension anything; they extra weight is just not worth it. Gotta pedal that thing up hills.
