Commonground Fair Weekend. All Commonground all the time, then collapse at the end of it on Sunday.
Some things to remember: shopping in the kid's enterprise zone; the first bags of flour from the new grist mill in Skowhegan made from wheat grown about 10 miles from here; the gasp from the crowd when the border collie grabbed one of the geese it was herding; new Lisa Bess pins; the Commonground Family gathering here for supper; a Tuva pesto cheese croissant; Bahoosh's tiny house; bike and Veggie Parades; giant horses trotting with little "meadowbrook" carts; Melissa's blue ribbons on the only cushaw squash in show; Amish sharing space with the Alpaca farm women; all the instructions I got for cooking the yummy golden beets; the funky gentle crowds.
