Directory December 5, 1999 Archives

It's not easy taking pictures of ice and snow. One is transparent and the other is white. But the stuff is very pretty so I continue to take a lot of pictures of it. And how do I get rid of all the ice & snow pics? Christmas cards! or as I think of it, solstice cards. So I go to my handy online directory and print it out. However, it's a long way from being complete. So if you haven't put your info there yet, hop over to here and do it. The directory link at the top of this page will take you to names and email addresses; if anyone needs the mailing or phone info, just let me know and I'll send you the URL of that page by email. The files sit on a UMaine server that is backed up every night; no more losing my address book. I'll be adding a birthday field to it soon and a little search routine that will give you all the birthdays this month. Like I have time to do that...

Next week will be the 50th issue of the PicayUnity. Recently,I went looking for a picture of our old cat in these pages and it took me a while to find it. Hmmm, guess I'll have to write a search engine.

The month between Thanksgiving and Christmas is an amazingly busy one isn't it? But it's not depressing like November. I love being in a room with a Christmas tree. We have two of them, the all white ornaments and ribbons Williamsburg style one at the Heron, and the one with colored lights and ornaments with long stories behind them at the anti-B&B (that's the lake house where cat hair rolls like tumbleweeds and it's ok to eat with your hands out of styrofoam containers). Every morning on my commute toward Bangor, I pass flatbeds headed south loaded with Christmas trees. I like to think that they are going to my friends down south.
