A couple of good snow storms this week left us with a pile of fresh powder. Snow banks along walkways and roads give you the feeling of traveling in a canyon. It's reassuring, actually, a buffer to catch you if you swerve. Compare my little snowbot friend to its picture last week and you'll see the additional accumulation.
On Saturday morning Terry Allan and I snowshoed and skied on paths around our house and on the lake. Melissa has a lingering cough from the flu and couldn't join in. In the afternoon the snow stopped and the sky cleared, and under a full moon, Terry, Diane Murphy and I skiied from the lake house to the Heron. I must do that a few more times this winter, but next time we'll do the whole length of the lake, which means, Andi, we'll be leaving from your house. How to spend a weekend: ski, drink hot chocolate, nap; repeat as needed.
After a flocking good storm, the woods are delicious.
