And the occasional trillium mixed in.

A lovely short walk with the dog on the first loop of Connor Mill Trail today. I don't think I've ever caught the trout lillies at peak before. The expanses of them were stunning. I learn online that they form colonies of plants of different ages. The youngsters are flowerless and have only one leaf, while older plants produce two leaves and a single flower.

I have been thinking about how small acts, rituals, compositions are insignificant in themselves. But do that same thing for 30 years, maintain that blog for 12 years, make that mix of songs every month for 6 years..and it grows into an ant hill with a sociobiology of its own. After a while you have a sea of trout lilies.
