With my new library card from the Maine State Library, I am in search of an app for the Droid X that will let me read eBooks. Not just any eBooks, but those I can check out from the library without going there.
Trying out Kindle, Nook, Google Books and Aldiko. All except Kindle will do eBooks, but none yet will handle the DRM, the part that says I own the book or that I have it for two weeks. That's usually handled by ADE (Adobe Digital Editions). In real book work I am reading Next Generation Democracy: What the Open-Source Revolution Means for Power, Politics, and Change by Jared Duval. Because some problems are too huge and complex to be solved by a few experts. Crowd-sourcing may be be way.
The December Mix is the trickiest of the year. I want the great harmonies, but not too much religion. I want to celebrate the darkness and cold and the solstice at the center of the season. Thea Gilmore is the star and the Sonos Ave Maria, and I can't do a winter mix without Jackson Browne and a murder (Elvis Costello).
