Ground cherries, in the tomatillo family, are less than an inch in diameter and very tasty. But I never noticed how their paper shells go all fairy filigree as they dry.
A darn near perfect fallish day today and none of it wasted with inside stuff. Did 25 miles on the bike to Pittsfield. Then had a leisurely meal on the deck with friends. A couple of fun bookings coming up in October. Joy Kills Sorrow on October 5. Young jazzy and bluegrassy out of Berkely. Because one of the members is Emma Beaton and because half the celtic singers in the world are named Beaton, Phil, who books the gazillion celtic shows here, thinks I'm stepping on his territory. I think I'm safe on Hot Club of Cowtown on October 12. I was totally charmed by them at the Bangor Folk Festival. These are two Wednesday night shows; mid-week is a bit risky. Other bookings include Miss Tess and the Bon Ton Parade on November 11 and Anna Egge on January 13. I'm looking forward to having good friends Melanie and Jinx visit during Commonground Fair. I hope Mel picks up my Chickie Wah Wah tee shirt that I won for being the 3000th FaceBook like. |
