The summer is upon us gangbusters with no time for documentation. Summer doesn't keep; you gotta spend it. Here are the highlights of the last few weeks.
Dave's girlfriend Anna and her friend Fran are having Asphalt Adventures this summer and Dave flew up to show them Unity and Maine. Dave inherited our set of favorites things to do and he makes a good guide. They walked the Rockland Jetty (Hi Lillian!), bought Tshirts in Liberty, had baywraps in Belfast, rented recumbents in Acadia, but as I suspected, they don't do as well on the hills.
The following week it was Ginny and John Payne, Julie and Paul Kronlage from Slidell. They brought us a lifetime supply of Purple Haze and Community Coffee. Ok, that's the last time we let Louisiana people come up in a big truck. In this picture, Ginny is demonstrating her "firehouse pole" technique for getting in the water. The look on her face when she accidentally went in that way was something, but having done that, she stripped down to essentials and went swimming. John and Paul got a 3 day fishing license and didn't miss a day.
As you can tell from these photos, in the summer the dock becomes the focus of activity. The dock and the garden. We eat homegrown lettuce, zucchini and sugar snaps every day. The summer squash I planted (sunburst, zephyr, raven, goldrush) is about to explode.
