Another weekend, another blizzard. A few days after last weekend's blizzard the temps rose above freezing during the day. Our building downtown suddenly developed leaks in the ceiling. We went up into the attic and saw to our surprise melting piles of snow. The wind-driven snow was so fine it got under the ridge cap which is vented and into the attic. This scene was apparently repeated in many attics in our area including the hardware store. Just a freak thing of the storm and something we would know to check next time before the temperature rises. A roofer is coming on this week to put a larger ridge piece on that roof.

Saturday there was a big fire on Main Street in Unity. Here is the
Morning Sentinel story about it.
People, cats, and lizard got out ok. Access to town was completely shut off in the afternoon so that the tanker trucks could zip back and forth to the fire ponds and Sandy Stream. Those are the only sources of water to fight a fire.

The old truck lives in Southwest Harbor. We spent a night there at Marge & Miff's house, played some bananagrams with my old mixes playing loud, went for a great walk over a causeway in the morning.
